21 Watch

This watch is 47 years old. It was given to me by my grandparents at that warm, re-assuring moment when I became 21 years of age.  Anyway, after many years and countless adventures, it retired (along with several other old treasures) to a box in the back of my bedside drawer. In a moment of nostalgia (a few months back) it emerged once more - all scratched and sad. Amazingly the grand old movement still functioned perfectly and I decided to restore the piece with as much care and patience as I could muster. The bracelet has been replaced and the scratches are (mostly) gone. It once again ticks proudly away on my wrist as it always had done in the glory days of youth ... and a small part of me feels 21 again.
