Golly has a shock

Golly turned pale when I presented him with some freshly harvested kapok and he had to sit down.

When he was made from a Woman's Realm cut-out-sew kit in the 1960s, he was stuffed with kapok. (His owner pestered her mother to send for the kit and helped stuff young Golly! Many years later, she designed and knitted him his favourite yellow jumper, when her mother taught her how to do cable-stitch.)

Once Golly had got over the shock of finding his innards grew on trees, he began to ask about the seeds. He couldn't feel any seeds inside him. Would they be in his legs? And his head? Or just his tummy? If we planted those seeds could we grow new gollies? So many questions!

He is showing signs of wear, he's been so much loved, but now he's just happy to know that he has his own personal kapok-bank should he ever need a transfusion.
