But just over the wall is a railway track and the Howgill Fells are a good many miles away beyond the A6 and the M6.

I do hope followers are not tiring of distant snow covered mountains. But whilst they are in their present condition the are hard to resist. Especially as this was taken just 50 yards across the road from the village paper shop where I had been paying my bill.

In any case I always feel that the Howgills look very special in snow and I may print this one for the wall.

If the cloud stays clear it may lead to a trip up the Knott tonight to look for the Northern Lights. Fingers crossed.
