Littleworth Common
I had to pop into Kingston today, and on the way I stopped to take some photos of the little pond at this common in Esher. It is still cold although it was bright and sunny.
I am getting excited for our trip to South Africa to see our family - we leave in 2,5 weeks time. We have not been back for two years, we last went back when my gorgeous niece got married. We tend to spend our time with the family and don't have much time to behave as tourists there, but I am hoping that we will at least have good weather so the boys can go to the beach. They have had an unbearably hot summer with a severe drought and consequent water restrictions, and are desperate for rain so I must not complain if it rains.
I saw on the news that the British Museum was the most popular visitor attraction last year, for the 9th year in a row. Second was the National Gallery and third was the Natural History Museum. Perhaps the fact that entrance is free to all those museums is a factor in their popularity. Here is an incredible statistic - more people visited the British Museum and the National Gallery, combined, than visited Barcelona and more people visited the Southbank Centre, Tate Modern and Tate Britain, combined, than visited Hong Kong."
