The Coromandel Peninsula

After a long 5.5 hour drive we are now ensconced in a 3 storey town house with lovely views out across Mercury Bay. We took the little yellow ferry across to the other side of Whitianga harbour hoping to have a walk and a coffee; the coffee shop was closed. This is the view over to Whitianga, a favourite town of both M and I.
The ferry is the yellow boat, last year there were two tiny ferries which used to dart back and forth, passing each other mid channel, but alas they have been replaced by one bigger, smarter model which also costs more!
