Mix and mismatch
These three shops have long been an item of curiosity to me. You can probably just make out that the buildings to either side have been rendered bland by being squared off at the top - possible the legacy of bomb damage in World War 2. You have to wonder what the original architects and builders had in mind when they produced three such different facades in the same block - the longer you look the more details and differences you spot. The one at the right has undoubtedly lost more of its original character yet it is still far more pleasing to look at than most modern shops. Of course the bad news is that the three oddities along with the rest of their block are under threat of development - a misused word if ever there was one!
