Beauty (and the Beastly Car)
"Beauty is a fairy; sometimes she hides herself in a flower-cup, or under a leaf, or creeps into the old ivy, and plays hide-and-seek with the sunbeams, or haunts some ruined spot, or laughs out of a bright young face"
George Augustus Henry Sala (1828 - 1895)
Backblip for Monday 7th March 2016
Early morning sunlight shining through ivy leaves, spotted on my walk back from taking the troublesome Corsa in to be worked on.
At the other end of the day, I was given the news that it might cost nearly £2,000 to fix the engine management problem - almost as much as the car is worth! Too long a story to recount here, but from my own independent research I actually think the Vauxhall mechanic is being pretty honest about it. On the plus side, the dealership is willing to work out a deal to trade in the car even with its problems and thus save me a lot of bother trying to get rid of it. As I was planning to sell it anyway and get a newer one, this would suit me fine. Let's hope they can offer something mutually acceptable within my budget. In the meantime, the mechanic is trying to find a way to get the car through the emissions test so it can pass the MOT. More news to come tomorrow.
