Flood zone 2

It was a wet and windy night... that's how stories start, isn't it... and today the Watsome Bridge was flooded again. It's a flood zone 2 area, which means it's expected to flood once in a hundred years. I think this is 'an underestimate'. It's not a bad flood, as such things go, and we've had it far higher, when the Little Avon river has burst its banks and flooded many feet deeper. I can't escape the knowledge though, that this is a bare dozen yards from the access to a planned new development, and that the developers are presenting their plans for the access design this afternoon just a little up the road (well above the high water mark, of course).
