Storm force

Ever so slightly blowy today! Lashing rain and storm force 10 winds brought down trees and kept children inside. The west coast road was shut for three hours before and during high tide. Pebbles, sand and tumultuous waves are battering our little island again.
Given that, as a young child, I thought that the island was fastened to the ocean floor with a long chain; I really hope the chain holds firm tonight.
