Getting it right
Over the summer Mr H and Young L were impressed by the uncle's karate practices. On the beach; in the water, on patches of grass; on the deck; on the concrete pavers. Young L asked if he could train in karate, and I offered to make things easier for all concerned by taking him, and Mr H decided to tag along. It has taken a little time to make the arrangements, and this evening was the first trip to the Dojo run by Kancho Sims, their uncle's master from all those years ago. Not wanting to use the flash, and excluding all the other children, I ended up with a dark photo, which was in need of straightening. Had I done so only one boy would have remained.
They enjoyed themselves. They learned to keep their shoulders square on. They smiled a lot. They listened to and respected Kancho. They want to go back next week.
