Walk Cheerfully Over The World
Wonderful concert tonight at Jordans Quaker Meeting House - a performance of Walk Cheerfully, 6 songs reflecting our Quaker testimonies by the Australian composer Peter Webb. The singer was Lottie Greenhow, soprano, and she was accompanied by Richard Simpson (principal oboist with BBC Symphony Orchestra) and the Aylwin String Quartet - altogether, the musicians comprised 5% of the BBC Symphony Orchestra! We were also very fortunate to have the composer himself with us, as Peter Webb (standing on far left) had flown over for this première of his work. A very memorable evening all round.
