The Abandon town of Gilman, Colorado
Perched high atop its' cliff the town of Gilman is a reminder of better times. Just 15 mins from the glamour of Vail, it sits as a testament when it was mineral wealth the drew people to Colorado. This was actually part of a trip to take in some of the glory seenlast year at Shrine Pass, but due to the drought conditions the flowers were not nearly as good. Meadows full of wild flowers and marshy in 2011 were dry and sparse this year. Such is life in a place defined by extremes.
