City Pub
In the middle of the North Sydney CBD is a Church. This Church was really a school that now sits atop of a modern shopping centre. This church-school also became a pub. During the construction of the Greenwood shopping centre there was alot of hullabaloo regarding saving this building and the fact it was becoming a pub. In the end the pub has maintained the building fairly well and its become a institution on the North side of Sydney. So was history saved? destroyed? or bastardized? A few still argue about this. Either way its a lovely old building and on a perfect winters day its a beautiful blip subject. I love the juxtaposition of the new buildings with old fig tree and school - with pub furniture. BTW its closed on Sundays.
