Façade Sculptures--Tours

Sculptures of this sort are found on many of Tours' older buildings-most often in wood, as here.  I have no idea whether the color is in any sense original but it is very striking.  I'm adding an extraphoto of the entire building--this detail is to the upper left of the door in the middle (the street is narrow, so I had to use PS's photomerge function to fuse two shots, one above the other).

At midday we headed back to Paris in the TGV--hardly 70 minutes to cover 200 kilometers; amazingly smooth and quiet.
