Balkan Green

Another visitor to our unfilled pool, this time a Balkan Green Lizard. These do not have the same temperament as a hedgehog so this time it was Spouseman with the thick gloves and me with the camera. Pictures taken from a safe distance before the action began. In fact their mouths are too small to inflict and real harm to a person but our best hunting cat has learned to steer clear of these. He caught one once so it bit his face and then wouldn't let go once he had. We had begun by trying to rescue the lizard from the cat but ended up rescuing the cat from the lizard.
