Lake Mountain Summit Walk

Today we drove up to Marysville.  Marysville was burnt to a cinder in 2009 and the fires that hit the state that February and in particular the 7 Feb (400 fires recorded) will now be forever known as Black Saturday.   2009 has been recorded as the worse fire in Australian history.

The evidence of burnt trees can still be seen, they are silver white and quite frankly remarkable that they are still standing tall and are known as Ghost Gums. I wonder what they would look like a sunset!

My blip today is of those ghost gums and the view that we were treated too.  In the distance, 11,200km is South Africa!!

I like to see survival.  We will go back to Marysville and perhaps when the snow comes.
