Six-spot Burnet
New visitors to the wildflower meadow, there were lots of these six-spot burnets fluttering round very actively. (worth a look at the larger version)

Two of them settled for a while, timing it just when a group of earnest walkers came past.
The leader of the pack said to me," These flowers are nearly past their best" at which point, I told her that the ones further over, with the cornflowers were absolutely at their height. She was about to walk THROUGH the lovely flowers so I couldn't resist saying," They are just over there, you can get there easily, preferably walking round..." She did.
We had a super burst of sun (which has now gone) and I had quite a choice of photos from the walk.
