James Crawford

This is my oldest family photo.   

When James Crawford was born on August 24, 1794, in New Cumnock, Ayrshire, his father, John, was 29 and his mother, Margaret, was 29. He had one son and three daughters with Catherine Milligan between 1826 and 1842. He had three brothers and five sisters.


The facts are still scarce - but he is six generations older than I, and eight older than Isaac and Ezra.    This sort of thing makes me marvel.
