ON THE WAY....

.... to our nations Capital, Canberra!

We are staying here tonight to catch up with good friends of old, then onto Albury later tomorrow.

Thought the best way to get a Blip would be to hit a "Derelict Sunday" pic.

As you travel around any parts of Australian outback, you can be guaranteed to find any amount of old farm buildings and implements used "back when" in days gone by.

This old shed with remnants of the original fence post was on the side of the main road into Canberra. A bit "hairy" stopping to get the shot with traffic firing past at 110klms/hour just behind where I was standing, but in true Blip spirit had to be!!

After booking into out Motel, ran into a guy heading out with his ice hockey gear. Got chatting and there was a comp on across the road - and he was heading off to play in the Gold Medal for the 45 to 55 year age group. AND, guess from where his team came..... yes our home suburb of Penrith.

So we grabbed a quick meal and went over to support the "mighty" ice hockey team from Penrith. The Dinosaurs their tag name!

Sadly, after a top game against Canberra it ended 3 all, and went to extra time, then went to a shootout. Canberra went on to win the Gold. Oh well, we can now at least say we have seen live, our first ever Ice hockey game, even if Penrith Dinosaurs lost in a shoot out, they can hold their heads high.
