Letters Live #1
In #ThatLondon as part of a combined festive/birthday pressie - to attend a couple of nights of Letters Live! at the Freemasons Hall.
Just magical stuff - a stunning array of talented performers bringing to life letters from the ages - many of which feature in the fabulous book Letters of Note.
The venue is breathtaking and so are the letters - funny, clever, powerful and moving. Toby Jones, Caitlin Moran and Benedict Cumberbatch were standout performers, as well as Carey Mulligan, Maureen Lipman, Jude Law, Judge Rinder and Danny Boyle. But the most powerful letter came from Hussan, a Syrian refugee reading his own letter to the people of Europe. Spinetingling, shaming and full of love all at the same time.
