Forbidden City

Exploring Beijing began with a rickshaw ride through the hutongs before a trip to the Forbidden city via Tiananmen Square. Amazing buildings, temples and gardens which were filled with tourists, most of them Chinese.

These two lovely ladies were part of a large tour group and along with two other similarly dressed ladies were proving almost as popular with the tourists as the emperors palace.

The performance by the Chinese acrobats this evening was simply stunning. Anyone who has seen the seven motorbikes in the cage will know what I mean! Awesome!

Fabulous first day and I didn't starve either!
