Stealth

Trip to Copenhagen to surprise nellbj for her birthday, visiting our friend Louise who used to be based in Phnom Penh as well. It involved some stealth flight booking and planning over the previous month. Then some stealth bus boarding at 4am so I wouldn't be seen by the birthday girl. I was huddled dodgily under a hood behind a tree on the green next to the bus stop before diving into the front seat of the bus to avoid being seen. Then I surprised the birthday girl next to the exorbitantly priced plastic bags before she'd been told where she was headed.

Copenhagen is a delightful city to visit, and we experienced quiet, grand streets, cosmopolitan food markets, millions of bicycles, steaming hot chocolates, Lou's bright and airy 1920s flat, the diverse neighbourhood of Norrebro, Danish efficiency and the brisk, sunny Scandinavian late winter. Huge day of indulgence and relaxation.
