Red river..
..Absolutely gorgeous day today. Temperatures reached double figures for the first time this year, the sun shone, and a pleasant gentle breeze.
Did a load of washing and dried on the line.
Potted up my tomatoes, and sowed some seeds.
Planted some kale and lettuce plants in the tunnel.
And then for a walk over the hill with Tanni.
Out past H's and onto the common grazing at the back of Scouriemore. There is a wonderful outcrop of pink crystaline rock infused with white quartz. I believe this is one of the scourie dykes, where the rock split apart, the gap being infilled with uprising molten magma. As this cooled, pegmatite and quartz crystals formed, and in this location, have not been eroded away. The vein flows down the hillside, and down over the cliffs to a promentory beyond. In places there is a gravel formed of weathered crystals.
Then onto "camas na faoileann" and "camas nam buth", rocky beaches, to do some "treasure hunting". Didn't find any!
Back home to hoover and get the washing in, and process the eggs (clean and date).
I made pizza for tea, all from scratch..
