Walk along the Marne
Late this afternoon our host, Roger, took Marylee and me on a walk around the south of St. Dizier, much of it along the Marne River, which flows southwest from here, merging with the Seine just short of Paris, in Vincennes. It was very high and flowing fast, after the rainy winter we have had. This followed a wonderful Sunday dinner (chicken cooked in a pot with beer and herbs for at least 36 hours. Breakfast was kugelhopf with rhubarb-strawberrry jam--both made by Anne, our hostess.
