Ailsa Craig
This view is taken from Haylie Brae viewing point looking down over Fairlie. Clydeport Hunterston can be seen in the foreground where 10% of our coal is imported at the deep sea port. In the background is Ailsa Craig, a granite island in the Firth of Clyde. The granite found here is used to make two thirds of all curling stones because of its quality. The shot was taken at sunset.
