Yertle

“And the turtles, of course...all the turtles are free, as turtles and, maybe, all creatures should be.” - Dr. Seuss, Yertle the Turtle

There are so many definitions of freedom of speech.
In today's world, freedom includes the ability for anyone to say what they think unless someone disagrees. (Overstatement but it feels that way.)
Not all people are kind or even fair but does that mean that they shouldn't express their perceived mean or unfair views?
I don't like seeing people hurt by words but is silencing people the answer?
Silencing people doesn't change their opinions/beliefs.
We only change when we listen to each other.
It's hard to listen to someone we disagree with, someone we think is wrong, but it's the only way to truly engage and to find an acceptable path forward- for all.
Yertle didn't listen and he ended up in the mud- there is a moral to that story of course. :)
