2016 Thursday -- Student Projects

This week I have collected a project from each student in each of my classes. We are required to teach three classes every semester; this semester I am teaching five classes.

At the beginning of the semester, each class has a capacity of 30 students, and sometimes I add a few extras. I know that once I introduce the course and the load of work that each student will be required to do, then the "drops" begin. Students withdraw because they don't want to read and they don't want to write.

The stack of projects in this photo represent the students who understand that a college degree requires more than warming a chair in a classroom.

It's time for me to read and to grade projects.
