Coming in to land
After a good but entertaining journey.
The bad bit was just after the pilot said we'd have about 30mins till we landed and suggested getting our bags ready, shoes on, use the bathroom etc. Mom couldn't get her shoes back on cause her feet and ankles had swollen so bad. I got one on for her and she moved into the aisle to put her other foot up on the chair to get the other shoe on. At that point we hit turbulence real bad. Mom lost her balance and fell backwards into the armrest of the chair behind. It caught her on her back and winded her.
I jumped up on the chairs to get across to her faster and found myself in the air as the plane dropped!
The guy sitting opposite grabbed moms arm and I grabbed the other and we managed to pull her back up and get her in her seat and buckled.
At customs I went through quickly and took all the bags to make things easier for mom, leaving her with just her passport and landing card. Unfortunately neither of us thought about her needing her green card! The officer who came to collect her green card from me got really excited when he saw it was an original green card that was actually green!!! That seemed to make his night!
Anyway, Audrey, Weston and Sarah came to pick us up.
It is raining and cold!!
