The end of the pier

The beach really is just over the road from the hotel, so first thing Ollie and I went to explore it.  In the extras is Ollie wondering where everyone else is!

When I was a teenager I used to work in the summer taking pony rides on the beach at Lytham and as a treat we were often allowed to ride them back to Blackpool at the end of the day, seven miles along the beach!  After slowly plodding backwards and forwards all day both the ponies and us kids loved it, especially when we got the chance to splash in the waves!

Excellent breakfast, full English with all the trimmings for Mike, smoked salmon and all the trimmings from a full English for me and sausages, neatly cut into bite sized morsels, for Ollie!  

And it's back to Fife . . . !
