Crisis? what Crisis?
Freight rates for a 40 ft equivalent container shipped from the Far East to Europe dropped to a meager 600 dollars. That's two of those containers you see on deck of this SafMarine containervessel. Imagina; twenty years ago i shipped a small wooden crate with a weight of approximate 60 kg from Japan to Europe at a cost of over thousand US dollar. The reason of those lousy rates is a overcapacity of ultra large container vessels. It is without any doubt that the days of middle class vessels like this one, are numbered. Also the days of freighters painted white are numbered i guess, but that's another story. Nevertheless, i love white freighters.
This one is better in Large.
