Braithwaite - ramble

We lost our group leader quite early on in the walk. She had to turn back because of a problem with her knee. The rest of us carried on and got lost. Not to worry, we got round the fells and eventually managed to find our way back to Braithwaite. 
Some of the bridges had been damaged in the recent floods and we had difficulty in crossing the river. If we had, had any sense we would have walked on the road until we found an intact bridge. Instead we decided to walk along the river's edge. We trudged through bog, and had to climb over fallen trees and broken fences. It was tough going and I ended up with a shredded arm. Bit of an adventure though - we all enjoyed the day.
