Art at the seaside

Good weather today so we decided to walk Southend pier, there and back (it's 1 1/4 miles long) you can catch a train either way. Its quite a while since we have been on the pier and they have just put a large culture centre at the sea end. Quite a feat of engineering as it was made further up river and floated down to the pier and then hoisted in place, it weighs 400 tons. Should be open to the public fairly soon.
At the shore end there was an exhibition of sculptures by polish artists. My shot today is of one of these looking back at Southend,you can see some of the others. Also a stomach churning ride in the background! They were quite abstract but very interesting.
We then had lunch out,thanks to our daughter for voucher, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Came back and did the gardening. Very good day. Hope you all had great weekend
