Golden Plover....

have arrived! Left early as the day was set fair and it was hot and sunny all day. After two hours, totally alone, the Golden Plover started circling,  piping,  but adding an extra burbling trill! It was exciting to hear! Lasted about five or six minutes, then they disappeared up to the crag where I found them nesting last year.
Fieldfares, Bullfinches, Chaffinches, Curlew, Oystercatchers, Lapwings and a roe buck were all in evidence.
Tried to find the track back the other side of the glen! Managed to go over the boot tops in bog, but it dried to a brown stain before I got back!
Every gutter was full of frogs and spawn! The ones in the extra were looking rather demented!
Just a wonderful day!
