Afternoon snack

The 'Dubai lot' left this morning to go to J'burg, then back to Dubai, which involves a trip to the dentist in J'burg somewhere along the lines.  Dirk and I had a lovely quiet day, enjoying the aftermath of visitors - tidying up and relishing the calm.  

After a weekend of chaos, we seemed to manage to get lots done, with that slightly smug satisfaction by the evening of actually achieving something (even if it was just laundry, tidying and paperwork).  

There are three calves in the garden at the moment (known as the calf nursery), their mothers live in the home paddock and are let in through the gate three times a day to tend their babies.  The mothers get used to it pretty quickly, but the first night or so can drag when the mother is less than impressed at being separated from her baby.
