RWB welcoming spring
The redwing blackbird was showing off his breeding plumage and singing loudly from a branch in the park. After yesterday's beautiful weather, today turned chilly and damp as a result of last night's thunderstorm. Typical spring weather! It wasn't the nicest day for a trail walk, but I wanted to practice using my camera in manual mode, so off I went. I came home with a respectable number of sharp and well-exposed pictures on my memory card. I think I'm making progress. The extra picture is a white-breasted nuthatch, sitting in an unusual pose for a nuthatch. They are more often seen walking down tree trunks rather than sitting on branches.
