House guest

He had to do it - bring it in the house. Actually he brought it  in to show our Mums last night - especially my Mum as she has very kindly bought it for us for our birthdays (not till September and November).

Mock SATs this week. This has left me quite down hearted at what we are teaching kids.  Grammar has gone mad, even specialists agree. Why 11 year olds need to know what a modal verb, adverbial phrase, , subordinating conjunction or any of the other crazy over thought terms are I do not know. Jumping through hoops is all I can think of and teaching to pass some irrelevant test rather than teaching practical useful ordinary literacy.  At least its Maths tomorrow - should be easier.

Positive note, although a bit scary, just registered as self employed! yikes!
