New Mum, new season

They were peacefully grazing in the sunshine this morning, so it was hard to pass them by, especially with my camera in my pocket!

It was a good afternoon for gardening, but before I went outside there was time to bake a lemon drizzle cake - somebody came in for a cup of tea and there is now only half left - !
So much to do, and it's only mid-March.

In the evening I went over to the Garden Club meeting, where we had a fascinating talk by a horticulturist who used to be a punk rocker with a pink mohican!  (So he told us). However, his hair is now merely white, and he and his wife run an interesting nursery, tea shop and garden not very far away. There are not many small, independent nurseries left nowadays, so perhaps this might be a chance to find some unusual plants!
