holiday backblips start here
It was Kai's first journey on a plane. He was excited for weeks. As we took off he exclaimed 'wow!' so loudly everyone on the plane laughed at his childish wonder!
He built sandcastles, collected shells and swam in an ocean so big he kept asking what was on the other side of the horizon.
He asked my why the sea makes waves and where the sand comes from.
He rolled foreign words over his tongue and shyly tried them.
He ate ice cream every day
He watched the sunset falling over the sea asked who painted the sky!
He fell asleep in seconds every night, murmuring memories from the day.
My holiday had been all the more precious for seeing through the eyes of a child.
