Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert

St.Guilhem-le-Désert is north of Montpellier on the foothills of the Massif Central. It is classified as one of the most beautiful French villages. It used to be a place to stop for the pilgrims on their way to Compostela in Spain. Nowadays, this medieval village is the home of some artists and shopkeepers and attracts visitors, who enjoy its quaint atmosphere.
Today's blip was taken on the village main square with its 150-years old plane-tree.
