Giant snail

This morning, a giant snail was found exploring the outside water tap - giant as it about 5 inches long, the picture probably doesn't quite do it justice.  Just like most things wildlife related out here, all just a bit bigger than in England, unlike many things out here, the snail won't cause any harm though. 

The child was quite out of sorts most of the morning, culminating in tears at lunch time, however an afternoon playing in the sand up at great Zim thoroughly cheered him up.  We suspect teething, the general 'catch all' for whenever he is feeling a little bit off-colour.  

I was treated to a wildbeest stampede on my afternoon walk.  I've come to the conclusion they are not too clever. Both yesterday and today, they 'ran away' from me, by running in the direction I was walking, and today went one better by then running across the path in front of me.  They did melt into the bush rather amazingly well, not a sound of them as I walked over the track where they had crossed.
