Roger

This might not actually be Roger the Rook, regular visitor to my parents' garden, but it is a rook and it did visit their garden today, along with several others, and I just call them all Roger now. Our friend Doyley was here today doing some repair work in the kitchen so I took the opportunity to decamp to Mum and Dad's with the dogs. This had several advantages: Polly wouldn't bark all day (as she would at home with a strange man in the house), I was supplied with good quality food and drink (and buns), I got to spend some time with my parents, and I was able to spend my day observing the huge variety of birds that visit their garden - especially the rooks. They often avoid me but today they were lured by muesli and visited several times along with jackdaws, siskins, robins, blackbirds, goldfinches, sparrows, blue tits, wood pigeons, magpies and a wren.

So a very enjoyable day thus far and I'm off to my friend, Mio's, for drinks with the girls this evening too :)
