a new friend................

ok folks, meet john. just another regular at the cafe i go to for lunch. he usually keeps different times from me which is why we have never met but today we got to chatting. turns out he is into his photography too although not keen on the digital era. the most interesting thing he told me about today was that he had just paid to have 5 pictures reproduced from some old shots either his father/grandfather (my memory is useless) took. the interesting part is that these old shots were taken at the front line during world war 1! i'm really hoping that he brings them in. i don't expect them to be fantastic in the technical sense but i am hoping that they will be quite powerful images.

my shot of him today is neither technically great or powerful..................in fact it's a load of old shite. for some reason trying to get a decent candid shot of him proved rather tricky and i hate staged portraits. so i just have to make do with this. i've done what i can in processing but i probably should have left it alone.

anyway it's all i have for you today. at least it's friday tomorrow and hopefully a chance to get out at the weekend for some more proper daylight shots. just hope it stays dry. don't mind the cold but it's so much nicer to be out shooting when it's dry.

oh and it's only a week today until the london christmas blip meet up meal type thingy! hope to see as many folk as possible, so far it looks set to be quite a random selection...................can't wait.
