Modern Pentathlon

What could be better on a Saturday than getting up at 6.30am and driving to Hemel Hempstead to spend the day running round a blustery athletics track, pausing to shoot some laser guns, followed with two hours of fencing and accumulating a painful series of bruises from jabs from the epee.  It was the latest event for our Olympic Challenge; unfortunately due to the state of my leg, I wasn't able to do the swim as I have to keep it dry, so we settled on 3/5 of the Modern Pentathlon events today, with the aim of completing the final two later in the year.
