The Diamond

I dropped James off at The Diamond at 9am this morning for the Hackathon, where the plan is to stay up all night competing in teams to design the coolest application.  Sleep is not on the agenda, although there are rooms with blow-up mattress's should the need arise.

Since two members of his team got the 5am train from Durham this morning (and awake even earlier) I can see the programming happening in shifts.  (At least James was able to sleep until 7.45 am as we were in a nearby hotel.

The event finishes at 3pm Sunday and there are prizes.  He'll be getting the train home after that.

I wandered into Sheffield to have a look around, before driving back to Linton.  There are a lot of new buildings, including The Diamond where James is.  (I got down low to take this picture).  But there are lots of old buildings and really interesting  graffiti too.  A few more here.
