NEC

I went to the Photography Show at NEC Birmingham today, to see the PAGB people and to go on a Fuji sponsored photowalk at 5 pm.

As usual at NEC, there are several exhibitions running concurrently, including on this occasion, the Comic Con exhibition. It was very tempting to linger outside the Photography Show to just take candids of all the characters who had dressed up for the show. So many characters and they'd all made marvellous efforts with their outfits.

I spotted this lady waiting at the exit to Hall 5 juxtaposed against the poster advertising live events. Somehow it seemed apt.

I met several people who I've met earlier this year on a Fujiholics event at both the Fuji and the Smugmug stands. It makes everything different when you know people there.

Disappointing time at the PAGB stall. Although they identified ten photos that might be acceptable for an award, providing there were modifications, I didn't feel encouraged.

But I did buy a tripod head, have my x-t1 camera cleaned, made good contacts with the Calendar Company and see one or two other things that were interesting, including a midget mini drone which Len and I would like to use for inspecting flood plains locally. We don't need the highest resolution camera for that. Since I'm going back on Tuesday, I intend to buy one then.

The photowalk was inspiring and more than made up for the PAGB experience. Paul Sanders was our guide suggesting how we could observe patterns and abstracts in our surroundings. The photos in this flickr album were all taken on the walk just outside Hall 5. Great stuff.
