That time of year

In La Rochelle even the street art gets a yearly update during a festival. Hip hop music and skate boarding competitions, all very French! Visited a local community festival that involved drums and dancing with a focus on disabilities. Saw people doing tricks on scooters which were pretty amazing. Weather was warm and very sunny which was an very unexpected treat!

Left it too late to find anywhere on the main area to eat this evening after a siesta turned into a snore fest, but managed to go to a decent hotel in the outskirts and eat blue cheese mussels ( I know!) and frites whilst nervously watching England play France. England won. Rock bar then reggae bar then home!

Had an amazing lunch in Le Mail which is s good walk out of town. The waiter was far more friendly than he was in summer.

Tomorrow the half marathon runs through La Rochelle so there may be an issue leaving town as some roads are closed till
Midday :-/

The weather further south looks rainy and awful tomorrow but must persevere!
