Nostell Priory

The house was built by James Paine  for Sir Rowland Winn on the site of a 12th-century priory dedicated to Saint Oswald. Robert Adam and Thomas Chippendale were employed by Sir Rowland Winn to help create his vision, unfortunately Rowland died before the house was completed and his wife although wealthy in her own right chose not to complete her husband's vision.
