What a surprise
There were some beautiful Northern Lights this evening. The most intense and fascinating one I have seen so far. Many of them directly above us, with strong colours as if someone had poured buckets of light from the sky. The whole spectacle went on for some 10 or 15 minutes.
It was surprising for me, because I thought that it would be too warm for such Northern Lights. During the day we had the warmest temperatures we have experienced so far during our Lappland trips in March. Well above zero with strong winds. Waxing the cross-country skis meant to apply klister, not really fun. If you are familiar about ski waxing, you know what I mean.
It was fascinating too see during the day how quickly the thick snow packages fell from trees and thousands of water droplets from melting snow sounded like rain.
