Flying Scotsman/ NYMR/ Last day

I had a ticket for the 0930 departure from Grosmont. The locomotive developed braking problems and an attendant steam engine was called for to push as the Flying Scotsman pulled. This made the service an hour and a half late but all resultant problems were dealt with professionally by the North Yorkshire Moors staff.
