sheltering from the rain ...
in a small hut near the edge of Lautersee.
Spent most of the day in Mittenwald a town near the Austrian border surrounded by Alps.
We took an unexpected walk, fuelled by 10 pieces of dried apricot, up to a "tarn" called Lautersee to experience some wonderful views despite the grumpy weather.
On the way back down into Mittenwald we experienced some more fantastic views of steep valleys, waterfalls and sunshine on the sky raking peaks of the German Alps. Madame was in her element chasing squirrels and generally ingnoring our "commands" except when food was involved.
We also had the experience of a rather large tree uprooting itself (like they do) and flinging itself across the stream next to which we were standing ... oh how we laughed ...
